Loading ...Johnny Depp to bare fangs in ‘Dark Shadows’ film
According to a report in Variety, Johnny Depp and the Warner Bros. studio plan to bring the 1960s supernatural soap opera, Dark Shadows, to the silver screen as a feture movie by the end of the decade.
Infinitum-Nihil, Depp's production company, has secured the rights to Dark Shadows, of which the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has been an obsessive fan for years. Depp plans to play the lead character, Barnabus Collins.
Depp got control of the show from the production company owned by series creator, Dan Curtis, who died in 2006 from a brain tumor.
As Dark Shadows goes into production with an expected release in 2010, Depp will next appear in the Tim Burton-directed horror musical, Sweeny Todd, which just finished initial filming.
